Operation Rules and Safety Guidelines for Chain Welding Equipment

Chain welding machines involve high voltage, high temperature, pressure welding, and rotating parts. Strict operation rules and safety procedures must be followed to avoid electric shock, burns, pinch injuries, fire hazards, and equipment damage.

1. Pre-Operation Preparation
Operators must receive professional training, understand the structure, principle, and operating procedures before taking up post.
Check power supply, voltage, ground wire, and ensure the equipment is reliably grounded to prevent electric shock.
Inspect hydraulic system, air pressure circuit, welding electrode, clamp, and cooling system for leakage or damage.
Check safety guards, emergency stop button, and protective covers to ensure they are intact and effective.
Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE): anti-scald gloves, safety glasses, protective clothing, and non-slip shoes. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.
Prepare fire extinguishers and keep the work area clean, free of flammable materials.
2. Standard Operating Procedures
Turn on the power and air supply in the correct sequence, then preheat the welding parts as required.
Set reasonable parameters: welding current, pressure, time, feeding speed, according to chain material and specification.
Place the material or chain link steadily in the fixture; ensure accurate positioning before starting.
Do not adjust the fixture or touch the welding zone during automatic operation.
Monitor the welding appearance, flash formation, and cooling condition in real time.
In case of abnormal noise, overheating, poor welding, or jamming, press the emergency stop button immediately.
After completion, take out the finished chain gently to avoid scalding.
Do not leave the equipment unattended during continuous operation.
3. Safety Guidelines & Prohibitions
Strictly prohibit putting hands into the welding zone, clamping area, or moving parts during operation.
Strictly prohibit overloading operation, excessive current, or overpressure to prevent damage or fire.
Do not touch the welding head, chain, or electrodes immediately after welding to avoid scalding.
Do not adjust parameters or open the electrical cabinet while the machine is powered on.
Keep the working area well-ventilated to avoid harmful fume accumulation.
Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from operating or modifying the equipment.
It is forbidden to use damaged cables, connectors, or faulty safety devices.
Do not use compressed air to blow debris toward people or electrical parts.
4. Post-Operation Maintenance
Turn off the welding power first, then the main power, air supply, and cooling system.
Clean welding flash, oxide scale, and debris on the workbench and fixtures.
Check electrode wear, clamp fatigue, and hydraulic oil level; record abnormal conditions.
Lubricate moving parts as required and tighten loose screws.
Store finished chains properly and keep the workshop tidy.
Fill in the operation and maintenance log.
5. Emergency Handling
In case of electric shock: cut off the power immediately and rescue; do not touch the person with bare hands.
In case of fire: cut off power and use a dry powder fire extinguisher; do not use water.
In case of clamping injury or scald: stop the machine immediately and provide first aid.
In case of serious equipment failure: disconnect power and report to maintenance personnel.
